Gli ultimi aggiornamenti sul progetto Nereide e i principali temi legati alla sostenibilità dei materiali impiegati per la costruzione delle infrastrutture stradali e ferroviarie saranno affrontati a Pisa il 16 e 17 luglio durante il workshop “Sustainability assessment of transport infrastructure: Recent developments and international projects”. Per gli ingegneri, la partecipazione da inoltre diritto a 6 CFP.
Tra questi grande attenzione sarà dedicata agli asfalti modificati con gomma riciclata e agli ultimi aggiornamenti dal Progetto NEREIDE, finanziato dalla Comunità Europea attraverso il programma LIFE e guidato dal Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile ed Industriale dell’Università di Pisa. Partecipano inoltre anche Ecopneus, l’Agenzia Regionale per la Protezione Ambientale della Toscana (ARPAT, che eseguirà i monitoraggi acustici), il Belgian Road Research Centre (BRCC) e l’Istituto di acustica e sensoristica Orso Maria Corbino del CNR.
Il Progetto LIFE NEREIDE
Il progetto LIFE NEREIDE (LIFE15 ENV/IT/000268) mira infatti ad ottenere pavimentazioni stradali durevoli e a bassa emissione sonora grazie all’impiego di polverino di gomma riciclata da PFU e fresato d’asfalto; per conoscere tutti gli aggiornamenti e le informazioni è stato inoltre realizzato un sito web dedicato al Progetto. In località Massarosa, provincia di Lucca, 2.400 metri di asfalto con gomma riciclata sono stati già realizzati con una particolare tecnologia di produzione a “tiepido”, ossia di 30°-40° inferiore rispetto i normali standard di produzione, che consente di ridurre oltre che i consumi energetici anche le emissioni, per il bene dell’ambiente ma anche degli operatori e dei cittadini.

Nel corso del workshop “Sustainability assessment of transport infrastructure: Recent developments and international projects” verranno affrontati tra gli altri i seguenti argomenti:
- Valutazione degli impatti ambientali dei nuovi materiali e tecnologie per i progetti di infrastrutture stradali e ferroviarie;
- Recenti sviluppi nella metodologia Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) applicata alle infrastrutture di trasporto;
- Database e misure degli indicatori di impatto;
- Progetti recenti e casi studio riguardanti la valutazione della sostenibilità ambientale;
- Materiali da costruzione e conglomerati bituminosi green per la realizzazione di strade e ferrovie;
- L’esperienza delle imprese e del settore pubblico con l’LCA;
- L’importanza della stima della durabilità dei materiali nella metodologia LCA
- Progettazione, costruzione, monitoraggi e manutenzione di pavimentazioni che contribuiscono a ridurre il rumore (low noise pavements)
