Building and insulation

ELT-derived recycled rubber is an effective solution for soundproofing and the absorption of vibrations in buildings.
Elasticity and shock-absorption properties allow to interrupt noise transmission among apartments and to reduce the vibrations of elevators, air conditioning units, and pipes. This improves the overall living comfort .
These characteristics assure stable performances for decades without deteriorating nor the need of maintenance.
Its main applications

Loft soundproofing
Recycled rubber is placed between the loft structure and the screed to stop footfall noise transmission. The elastic layer absorbs vibrations and avoids their propagation in the apartments below, thus assuring greater silence and living comfort among the various floors of the building.

Wall soundproofing
Recycled rubber mats are placed in the space between the internal walls to reduce noise transmission without increasing the overall thickness of the walls. This assures greater noise privacy among apartments without giving up living space.

Anti vibration products
Bases and supports made with recycled rubber are placed under machinery, air conditioning units, elevators, and pipes to reduce the vibrations they generate during their activity. This eliminates noise and vibrations that affect peoples’ comfort.
The advantages for designers and clients
Certified and long-lasting performances
Materials made with recycled rubber keep their soundproofing properties for the whole duration of the useful life of a building, without the need of replacement or maintenance.
Compliance with MEC
Soundproofing items containing recycled rubber comply with the Minimum Environmental Criteria for public building that provide for at least 60% of recycled rubber to be included upon production of the same items.
Resistance and versatility
Recycled rubber resists to dampness, thermal excursion, mould, and chemical products. It can be installed on every surface, even uneven ones, adapting to new buildings or renovation projects.
Reduction of imports
Replacing virgin raw materials with ELT-derived ones reduces import of virgin raw materials, with financial and environmental benefits for Italy.
Technical documentation
Ecopneus has created a number of Technical Manuals for designers, project management and specialised companies in collaboration with Vie en.ro.se Engineering. These Manuals analyse:
- Acoustic, thermal and structural performances of materials made with recycled rubber
- Correct installation of the materials with photo guides
- Real, measured performances in building sites and comparisons with other insulating materials
Case History

Parma’s Toscanini Auditorium
The Gavazzeni rehearsal room of Parma’s Toscanini Auditorium was acoustically renovated in 2017 using sound absorbing panels made with ELT-derived recycled rubber.
“The acoustic performance obtained with recycled rubber panels was incredible. They are able to help orchestra directors to listening to the slightest of details, the ones that make the difference .”
– Maestro Luigi Ferrari, Superintendent of the Toscanini Foundation

Rome, Rehearsal room of the Musical Band of the Carabinieri corps
140 sqm of soundproofing panels made with recycled rubber for the acoustic requalification of the rehearsal room of the Carabinieri music band. The project was developed in collaboration with Genesis Acoustic. This requalification intervention has created a room with controlled acoustics that is excellent for orchestra rehearsals.
