PavementsThanks to recycled rubber, it is possible to produce building products for multiple uses. Thanks to the relevant characteristics of rubber elasticity, the products for acoustic insulation from sound and vibrations are among the most important products.
The products made with ELT rubber have a reduced bacterial development; they resist moulds, heat and humidity; they do not suffer from exposure to sun and ultraviolet rays as well as chemicals. These characteristics make recycled rubber a competitive product in comparison with other elastic resilient products present on the market. The high capacity of recycled rubber to keep unaltered its own performances in time constitutes a noticeable added value in a sector like the one of building, where long duration is a fundamental element. Several products destined to the building sectors are made in recycled rubber. It is possible to divide them into the following categories:

Anti-impact products for loft acoustic insulation. These are based on the interposition between a superficial layer and the base structure (the loft) in a layer of elastic material (normally between 2 and 20 mm of thickness), which allows to “break” their solid configuration.

Cavity products for wall acoustic insulation. Placing a layer of rubber in the cavity of the walls allows to reduce the insulation losses caused by cavity resonances. The recycled rubber insulator may be applied also as back overlaying and covered with plasterboards.

In the anti-vibration products for the dampening of the vibration of industrial machinery, plumbing and mechanic systems and their components and for the foundation of buildings, it is necessary that the resilient material has excellent elastic and dampening properties, as well as a good mechanical resistance under effort. These characteristics make recycled rubber an important resource for the production of anti-vibration products. Besides guaranteeing high levels of elasticity, anti-vibration pedestals in recycled rubber lower the assembling heights of the machinery and, thus, less space is used the rooms.
