Ecopneus is taking the latest Tyrefield sports surfaces made with rubber recycled from End-of-Life Tyres to Trento’s Sports Festival. It is a solution that combines professional performances with the sustainability of sports installations.
A tournament on a Tyrefield padel court will also be held among the many appointments of Trento’s Sports Festival. Some great legends of the Italian and International football, such as Vieri, Cassano and Materazzi, will be present on that occasion. A whole morning dedicated to great basketball will be organised with the ex-captain of the Italian basketball team, Giacomo “Gek” Galanda.
When sports meet sustainability, doing physical activity becomes even more exciting! With these premises, Ecopneus will be the Sustainability partner of Trento’s Sports Festival (7-10 October) also this year. On this occasion, Ecopneus has sponsored four sports surfaces forbasketball, tennis and padel, made with rubber recycled from End-of-Life Tyres, in partnership with Mapei. Recycled rubber is an eco-friendly material that can be used to produce surfaces for every sports discipline – from basketball to football, volleyball, tennis, horse riding, and padel – the currently fastest growing sport all over Europe
A new conception of green sports installations that is growing stronger and stronger also thanks to the efforts of Ecopneus. Ecopneus is a non-profit consortium and is currently the main operator in the sector of the management of End-of-Life Tyres (ELTs) in Italy. Ecopneus is strongly committed to the promotion of the many applications of recycled rubber, such as the state-of-the-art Tyrefield sports surfaces.
The Tyrefield padel court will be one of the protagonists of this edition of Trento’s Sports Festival. It will also be an absolute novelty for the Festival. On Friday, 8th October, some football legends, such as Bobo Vieri, Antonio Cassano, Marco Materazzi, Lele Adani, and Nicola Ventola to name but a few, will be confronting themselves on this sports surface. The court has been created with the collaboration of Waterproofing – a technical partner of Ecopneus.
Several celebrities of today’s and yesterday’s Italian tennis world will alternate themselves on the Tyrefield tennis court. This will see the extra-ordinary participation of Filippo Volandri and Tathiana Garbin together with tennis fans and young tennis players. The Tyrefield tennis and basketball courts have been created thanks to Mapei.
The secret ingredient of the four sports surfaces is, thus, rubber recycled from End-of-Life Tyres. It is a precious and eco-friendly material that can be used to produce sports surfaces appreciated also at the highest levels thanks to the many advantages they offer: excellent performances and playability; anti-shock protection for the athletes, resistance to all weather conditions.
In sports surfaces, recycled rubber is used as an elastic mat laid on the foundations. Infills and acrylic resins are then placed above these mats in order to create the external superficial layer characterised by adequate compliance with the requirements of the sports discipline the surface has been planned for. The versatility of this solution allows to create surfaces with specific characteristics based on the discipline and intended use: for professional athletes, for fun, for school or amateur sports practice.
