Innovative, performing, and sustainable products with exceptional shock absorption, excellent reaction to vibration, and highly soundproofing characteristics are now available for both companies and consumers. The innovative Tyreplast materials are back at Mecspe in Bologna Fiere from 23rd to 25th November. Tyreplast materials have been developed thanks to the mixing of rubber powder derived from End-of-Life Tyres and thermoplastic materials.
This innovative product has been developed within the scope of the Tyreplast project promoted by Ecopneus in collaboration with Idea Plast
Good news for all those companies currently looking for innovative solutions and environmentally sustainable materials.
Promoted by Ecopneus and Ideaplast, the Tyreplast research project aims at creating new materials combining rubber powder recycled from End-of-Life Tyres and post-consumption thermoplastic polymers. The objective is to create highly performing mixes with important environmental value. At the same time, these materials valorise the physical and technical characteristic of recycled rubber and thermoplastic materials.
Tyreplast is an innovative mix that allows to improve the properties of these materials, such as their shock resistance, toughness, soundproofing, and vibration reduction. The advantages are tangible: more resistant, versatile, and cheaper products. For example, in the automotive sector, Tyreplast compounds are mainly used in vehicle finishing and components. On the contrary, if used in the building sector, they allow to create highly performing elements for soundproofing and vibration reduction – such as walkways and surfaces. Instead, in zootechnics, it is possible to create protections and prostheses for animals’ hooves. With reference to urban furniture, instead, the Tyreplast innovative mixes can be used to create objects such as benches and flower pots.
Federico Dossena, General Manager of Ecopneus, stated: “As Ecopneus, we invest large sums in Research & Development for the market of the applications of recycled rubber. The Tyreplast project perfectly represents our constant striving to the future and innovation. ELT-derived rubber has an extremely high technological value that expresses all its potential combined with thermoplastic materials.”
It is a concrete example of circular economy at the service of both companies and the business world. You are invited to discover it at Mecspe organised by Bologna Fiere from 23rd to 25th November. Mecspe is the Italian trade fair of reference for the manufacturing industry. At the Ecopneus Stand (PAV 36, Stand A17), several examples of the products that can be made with the Tyreplast materials will be on display for each field of application. Moreover, the Tyrefield project has been given the Mecspe “I do more” award. This prize rewards green and environmentally friendly solutions, as well as those companies standing out for their greater attention to innovation and the environment.
